Church Day Away

porthcawlOn Saturday, we’ll be going off to spend the day in Porthcawl. Grace Community Church have kindly offered the use of their building for the day.

For those who have signed up for the coach, that will be leaving at 9pm from our building. (Please ensure that you have paid Martyn for your place on the coach.) For those making your own way there, you’ll need to get to Hope Chapel, on Newton Nottage Road, CF36 5RR around 10am.

Once you arrive, we’ll have pastries as well as tea and coffee, before we start our first session at 10:30am. After that, we’ll do lunch (if you’d like to bring money for a donation then we’ll collect that on the day) and then we’ll have some free time to go to the beach or walk along the prom. For those who struggle to walk, some of us will provide a shuttle.

We’ll be doing a quiz at 3pm, followed by our final session at 4pm. The coach should be back at our building by 6pm.

If you haven’t booked up and you’d like to come along. I’m sure we’ll be able to squeeze you in. Please contact Jonny to confirm that you’re able to come.

Hustings 2017

coffee cakeHaving held a couple of hustings events before, and with a general election round the corner, we thought we’d do another!

All are invited along on Saturday 3rd June, 7-10pm, to hear from the available parliamentary candidates for Torfaen. There will be a selection of questions addressed to the candidates to see how they respond in order to help you consider how you vote. There may be an opportunity for questions from those in attendance as well, time permitting.

And if nothing else, we will be serving complimentary tea, coffee and cake halfway through.

Life Explored

There’s a new course that we’re going to run called Life Explored. It’s a bit like the other course we’ve run, Christianity Explored, except it’s just a little different.

It’s especially designed for people who are interested in considering Christianity and the message of the Bible. So if you wouldn’t call yourself a Christian, or if you’d even call yourself an agnostic, or atheist, or if you don’t know what you’d call yourself, then this is for you! Or maybe you are a Christian and want to explore your faith a bit more, if so then this is for you as well.

From Sunday 7th May at 6pm, over seven weeks we’ll be running the course alongside our Sunday evening service, in our upstairs hall. The course consists of video content alongside discussion groups and short Bible studies. You don’t need any previous knowledge and you won’t be put on the spot or asked to do anything you’re not comfortable doing.

The course provides a relaxed environment to be informed and to raise whatever questions you would like to ask about the Christian faith. And it is of course free of charge! Here’s a trailer to entice you:

All are invited to come along. Contact us if you’d like any further details.
